Central and Eastern European Bankwatch Network is seeking a part-time volunteer (unpaid) as a Climate Volunteer

CEE Bankwatch Network is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) with member organisations currently from 12 countries across the central and eastern European region. The aim of the network is to monitor the activities of the international financial institutions which operate in the region, and to propose constructive alternatives to their policies and projects in the region.

We provide a challenging opportunity to work in a multi-cultural and multi-country NGO environment and use your abilities to help save the planet while testing your skills in the volunteer sector, as well as, upon successful execution of your work, a written reference for any future employment. The working language is English and the position is unpaid. (For more information, please check our website: bankwatch.org) Tasks and responsibilities • Creating and updating a calendar of events in Poland organized by Bankwatch and other environmental organizations • Researching, localising and reaching out to student organizations, scientific groups to gain information on their activities • Assisting in providing information on Bankwatch’ activities and objectives • Seeking for potential areas where Bankwatch and other environmental organizations can work together • Presenting and discussing findings • Assisting in motivating other local organizations to get involved in Bankwatch’s campaigns (via emails, skype, telephone or newsletters) • Providing information to newsletters about upcoming environmental events for interested parties • Participating and contributing at team meetings • Translating from English to Polish and from Polish to English • Possibly participating at events

Experience: • Strong verbal and written communication skills both in English and Polish • Ideal candidate should be a real people person with an open-mind and excellent listening skills • Strong computer skills • Knowledge of and/or interest in EU environmental politics • Interest towards the objectives of Bankwatch • Independent, flexible with good organizational skills • Open, energetic and proactive

Location: Warsaw, Polish Green Network office Optionally working from home

The ideal candidate should be able to commit to volunteer for 12-16 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months period (possible for extension).
